GET TO KNOW frieda
Growing up in a creative and artistic family, Frieda received her first camera- an old Agfa Isolette with only 12 shots on a film- at the age of 9, and subsequently made initial steps into travel photography on a trip to southern Italy. At 15 she had advanced enough to install her own dark-room in the basement of her home, focussing mainly on black and white photography.
Going to study literature at University in Paris, she continued to be passionately involved in music, photography and painting. This was mirrored in her next chosen path, where for many years she worked in the event industry organizing multiple exhibitions and concerts for international contemporary artists the world over.

Frieda’s prize winning work is inspired by the elements which she encounters on her extensive international travels. Her magical, scenic impressions reflect those aesthetic patterns intrinsically woven throughout our natural world. Textures thrown up by nature’s geometry are captured by her poetical and seeing lens, giving an almost ordinary scape an extra-ordinary new meaning and life. Her aesthetic syntax is maybe, at a first glance, quiet and strong, but it carries an ironclad emotional pull that draws the viewer in time and time again. Her work translates nature’s energy into her own personal energetic world.
Formats range from small over medium to museum-size and are printed on different materials like paper, acrylic and metal in editions of 3 to 10.
